Sheesh... we all thought today would be a bit of a break. Sleep in a bit, have breakfast, and enjoy the bus ride back to Göteborg. Not so... The night before was a bit late after our return from the exhibition game in Malmö. This made wake-up pretty sluggish for most. The three-and-a-half-hour bus ride back was pretty quiet with most of the group sleeping. I have some pretty interesting pictures I promised not to post. :) Upon arrival in Gothenburg, we checked in quickly and re-boarded the bus for a double header semi-final afternoon/evening. Two really good hockey games saw Sweden in game one and the USA in game two victorious setting up a great gold medal game tomorrow. The Czechs and Finland both played extremely well but unfortunately lost and will meet up for the bronze. It was Chase Comisarow's birthday and his handsome face found its way to the jumbotron. Happy birthday,  Chase! Time for bed now as it's our last full night in Sweden and the day tomorrow is full. 

Today is a two-game hockey day. Just like a tournament back home. An early rise at 630 AM made for a long day when our second game was at 7 PM. Our first game against Helsingborg was our most exciting game so far. With the opposition up 7-3 in the third, Crescent dug deep and came back to tie the game 7-7. With strong goaltending and intense forechecking we managed to fend off a PP in the last minute as well as scoring a shortie.  Game two was a bit lopsided in our favor. 8 - 2 was the final with Crescent easing up on the gas a bit in the third. Malmo Redhawks were fantastic hosts finishing off the day with a traditional Swedish dinner of meatballs, potatoes, gravy, and the famous lingonberry sauce.  What an incredible experience for all the boys, parents, and coaches. Smiles all around, sincere handshakes, and genuine embracing of parents from the Swedish hockey teams made the experience a trip of a lifetime. 

Today the group had the morning off to sleep in,  explore Malmo, and do some shopping. Most families took advantage of the free morning to sleep in and catch up on some needed sleep. We left the hotel at 330 PM and headed to the rink for a 6 PM game. It was back and forth for all three periods with Tyringe coming out on top 3 - 2. It was another fantastic experience that included a combo team dinner by our hosts after the match. The boys ate, the parents ate, and believe it or not, so did the coaches.  Tomorrow is a tough day (we are ready though) with two hockey games lined up. The 645 AM departure time comes quickly.  Good night from, Malmo.
