Day 5 - Malmo New Years Eve

Today we traveled to Malmo for New Year's Eve. It didn't disappoint in any way. Even the pouring rain couldn't dampen the great evening festivities. When we arrived we checked in at the hotel and quickly got organized for a short city walking tour. It was really interesting to listen to our guide, Annette. 

Our tour operator, Mike Moore from Moore Sports Tours put together an incredible evening. A four-course dinner, music, and a perfect view of the many city-wide fireworks from within our hotel. Our boys, parents, and coaches had a blast. 

Tomorrow we get to sleep in a bit then we travel to Copenhagen for a day trip. 

Another great day.

Hi everyone, this is our U14 World Jrs. Trip Blog.   We will fill it with pictures, comments from the players, parents and Coaches, and a running diary of our daily activities.  Here is the first post of many.  We had a plan. We asked the community if they wanted to travel to Sweden for the World Jr. tournament, and now we have Forty-five travellers heading over on December 26th. Our first get-together was about a year ago. We gathered again six months later for a wonderful pool party to discuss the trip details. Now, it's about a month away until we fly.  It's exciting. The first leg.....

It's currently 10AM local time, 4AM Toronto time and we are all hanging in. Yes, tired, but super excited for the next leg and the next nine days. We are waiting for our connecting flight at the Frankfurt airport. Moving our group from one terminal to another was a handful. We had to take a ten-minute shuttle bus to our next gate. Pretzels, cold-cut sandwiches and coffee kept most of us busy. That's it for now as we get ready to board. Stay tuned for my next post tonight local time.

Day 4 - Oslo day trip.

After a comfortable three hour bus ride watching the countryside change in front of our eyes, we arrived in a snowy wonderland. Oslo had about ten centimeters of snow fall over the last couple of days making it even more special.  What a beautiful city. The architecture was spectacular and it's development along the waterfront is extraordinary.  Our visit to the Olympic ski jump site, Holmenkollen, was a highlight of the day as was the Oslo Opera House. Both are significant structures in own their unique way. After our guided tour we were given time to enjoy the downtown on our own before dinner at TGI Friday's.  Shopping, shopping, shopping, eating,  eating, eating! Another fantastic day in the books.  Sees i morgen!
