Day 2 - WOW!!! Can it get any better?
Our first exhibition game was today against Kallered Ice Bears as well as a fantastic city tour of Göteborg (Gothenburg) in the morning. Our tour guide, Christine, was terrific, and the parents and boys were fully engaged. We headed out after breakfast, which included a typical North American-style selection of food as well as a traditional Scandinavian spread of cheese, cold cuts, yoghurt and granola. We all ate really well.
After breakfast, we loaded the bus for a three-hour tour. We saw the shipyard and port, an ancient church, incredible architecture and several poignant statues. Did you know the inventor of the Hasselblad camera, Fritz Victor Hasselblad, was born in Sweden? As a photo buff, I found it pretty interesting. Yes, we returned for those of you who remember Gilligans Island.
Upon our arrival at the hotel, Gord Miller from TSN met us for a great meet and greet and photo session with the boys and parents.
That's it for now. It's 130AM Swedish time, and my säng is calling me.... Talk to you tomorrow!
