Day 2 - WOW!!! Can it get any better?

Our first exhibition game was today against Kallered Ice Bears as well as a fantastic city tour of Göteborg (Gothenburg) in the morning. Our tour guide, Christine, was terrific, and the parents and boys were fully engaged. We headed out after breakfast, which included a typical North American-style selection of food as well as a traditional Scandinavian spread of cheese, cold cuts, yoghurt and granola. We all ate really well.  After breakfast, we loaded the bus for a three-hour tour. We saw the shipyard and port, an ancient church, incredible architecture and several poignant statues.  Day one on the ground - After many hours of travel.  What a great day. No hiccups at all. All our luggage, hockey equipment and sticks arrived shortly after we landed. We travelled to the hotel, had a quick freshen-up and dinner, and then went to the Canada vs Latvia game. So far, it's been perfect. Tomorrow is a big day as we have our first exhibition game. Stay tuned for updates.  Coach V's been up for thirty-four hours now, so I am going to bed. Good night! Here are some photos of the day.

The first leg.....

It's currently 10AM local time, 4AM Toronto time and we are all hanging in. Yes, tired, but super excited for the next leg and the next nine days. We are waiting for our connecting flight at the Frankfurt airport. Moving our group from one terminal to another was a handful. We had to take a ten-minute shuttle bus to our next gate. Pretzels, cold-cut sandwiches and coffee kept most of us busy. That's it for now as we get ready to board. Stay tuned for my next post tonight local time.
